    1930 Army program -
This is a rare program from the 1930 collegiate football season for a game between the Black Knights of the Hudson and the Illinois Fighting Illini.  Yankee Stadium in New York was the venue, which made it virtually a home game for the Cadets.  The captains of the two teams are pictured on the front cover - Illinois' Olaf Robinson and Charles Humber of the Army.
The West Point squad posted a 9-1-1 mark for the season, and they posted a shutout in this encounter, 13-0.  The Illini finished the campaign with a 3-5 mark.  The program has individual photos of the players on both squads as well as some great photos of the Illinois and Army campuses.  There's also a terrific aerial photo of Illinois' Memorial Stadium.
The Illini lineup included - Don Munch, Hunter Russell, Gil Berry, Robinson, Mark Swanson and Caslon Bennett.
Army's notables included - Wendell Bowman, Ken Fields, Cyril Letzelter, Ed Herb, Carl Carlmark and Ed Messinger.
