    Description

    This auction is for a pair of large sterling silver Master Salt or Condiment dishes made by Rowlands & Frazer in London.
    These dishes are marked with the "Lion Passant", the "Leopard's Head" used in London (1876 - 1895) and the "HF" of Rowlands & Frazer.
    They have no duty mark as the tax on silver was abolished in 1890. This may also explain their lack of a date letter.
    These dishes measure approximately 3.0" in diameter by 2.0" in height and weigh a combined 242.5 grams or 7.80 troy ounces.
    They are in excellent condition without monogram or inscription.
    This is one of several auctions of fine sterling and silver master salt dishes that I will offer this evening.
