Description

Matched Pair of Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Open Salt Cellars.  Amazing these have stayed together after all these years.  Each is hallmarked.  These were assayed in Chester, England in 1899.  Beautiful repousse decoration with flowers and scrolls, and a scalloped rim.  Ornate engraved monogram, appears to read "RPR" (or something similar).  Each measures approx. 2" in diameter across the top x 1-1/8" tall.  Combined weight of the two is approx. 50 grams.  These salt cellars are used and in excellent condition considering age and use.  I have noted a couple subtle dings on each, nothing that stands out.  Someone has engraved an ID number on the bottoms.  Some light surface wear and some tarnish, they could use a good polish and buff.  A few darker tarnish pits inside the base.
