An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English cast sterling silver pepperette in the form of a fox; an addition to our animal related silverware collection.
This exceptional antique George V cast sterling silver pepperette has been realistically modelled in the form of a fox.
The surface is embellished with decoration reproducing the details of the fox’s coat and snarling facial features.
The pepper retains the original hallmarked push fit cover/head which features pierced 'pepper' holes.
The sleeve to the cover is gilded and bears the marking 'Callow of Mount St W'; the gilding indicates the fine quality of this piece.
This pepperette is an exceptional example of its type; such original period pieces are becoming increasingly rare to the market.
Condition
This antique pepper is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The hallmarks struck to the surface of the fox’s tail and the sleeve of the cover are all very clear.
