English Cased Sterling Silver Sugar Bowl & Sugar Sifter, c. 1866

This listing is for a gorgeous 19th Century English Sterling Silver hallmarked footed sugar bowl with pierced sugar sifter spoon, c. 1866. The sugar bowl has a scalloped upper border with three embossed floral swags held up with bows above the elaborately chased decorated feet decorated with masks above paw feet. The sugar sifter has a tightly ruffled bowl edge with lightly gilded chased fruit and berry interior with pierced body for sifting sugar. The handle is engraved with cartouche on handle end with fancy monogram "A D L T". Both pieces are marked with English hallmarks for Exeter, Sterling, date letter for 1866/67 and with maker's stamp of James & Joseph Williams of Bristol. The silver comes in it's original fitted velvet and silk lined leather presentation box.
Sugar bowl measures 2 1/2" high, 3 3/4" in diameter (at top) with overall width of about 4 1/4". Weighs 165 grams. The sugar sifter measures just over 6 1/2" long with the bowl area being 1 7/8" in diameter. Weighs 45 grams. Combined weight is 210 grams.
Both pieces of silver are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. The leather case appears to be in good condition from the front, however, one of the back panels is missing. The hinges are tight and work correctly with the box closing nicely in the front. The interior is original and in clean condition although it does show expected signs of wear.
