    Description

I am not sure of the location of production or the silversmith as I do not have reference to hallmarks on sterling.  I have included a picture of the marks for reference. A wonderful footed sterling silver salt cellar with a cobalt insert believed to have originated in the last quarter of the 19th century. The seller has an engraved letter “R“ on the body between two of the feet.  I have tried to remove the cobalt liner but I believe it is permanently affixed to the silver as it will not come out. The cellar stands 1 1/4” tall and measures approximately 2” across the widest girth of the body. I can fine no damage or repairs to this item. I did feel a pin point spot on the glass rim but it is too tiny to photograph and does not detract from the value or beauty of this item.  Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
    Thank you.
