    Mirka's pad protectors are used between the sander pad and the abrasive disc, reducing wear of the backup pad's grip hooks. The 9956RP pad protectors have 6 hole vacuum patterns as well as Abranet multi-hole patterns.
    The protective pad protects the grinding plate / grinding shoe of your sanding machine or sanding block from damage and wear. The protective pad is attached between the grinding plate and grinding wheels using hook-it material. The protective pad should be changed regularly to prolong the life of the grinding plate.
