    Description

    ABOUT:
Ornate pair of two French .950 (better than sterling) silver footed salts with matching spoons.  The salts have glass crystal inserts and the silver has Louis XVI style designs of leaves and flourishes.  The insides are beautifully goldwashed / vermeil gold plated providing a warm glow from the inside while in use.
    NO MONOGRAMS
These are antique pieces that I acquired in France from the late 1800s / turn of the century.  All pieces are marked with the French 1st title Minerve head hallmark for 950 (better purity / more silver than American Sterling) Silver.
The spoons are stamped with a maker's mark PB which I could not identify, the dishes also had a maker's mark but it has worn down.  However they seem to be a set so may be the same maker.
    MEASUREMENTS:
Each Dish measures about 2 1/2 inches by 1 3/4 inches and almost 1 3/4 inches tall.  Spoon are about 3 inches long.
    Condition Notes:
In good estate condition considering age. The crystal inserts have a few cloudy spots, not sure if it is calcification buildup or scuffs. One of the salts has several dark tarnish spots almost like corrosion from the salt around the rim and on the gold washed interior.
I don't see any pin dings or dents to the silver.  No chips or cracks to the glass.  Very nice patina and shine.  Both pieces have surface wear and scratches from use and polish over the years.  Dishes are still vibrant in color with the warm gold vermeil plating over the silver.  I don't see any major areas of wear.
Please see photos closely as this is not a mint condition set due to age of over 100 years.
