Description

Ukraine inherited most of the textile industry of the former Soviet Union on break-up in 1991, and maintained contractors and relationships with clients of the newly formed ex-Soviet states. This is one of those uniforms made in Ukraine, most likely for Russia, according to the contract stamp. The camouflage pattern was developed in the late USSR as one of the regional variants of the "Butane" family, and was most commonly spotted in the southern regions of Russia.
The 2-piece set is based on the M1982 Afghanka pattern standardized in the USSR.
The tunic has 4 frontal pockets, with Velcro squares on the flaps, a concealed button frontal main closure and utility pockets on the sleeves and epaulets for rank insignia.
Trousers are identical to the Afghanka format, with cargo pockets on the thighs and open slash pockets around the waist.
Manufactured in 1994 with factory stamps, appears new. Size is 54-5 (182-108-100) or Large, for someone someone of regular build in the 182-188 cm height range (5'10" to 6'2").
