Description
For your consideration, is a vintage U.S. Navy CWU-45/P Cold Weather Flight Jacket, with patches and pilots name tag. This was an estate sale find, so I do not know anything about the Jackets history, but doing a little research on the patches, I have determined that the pilot flew the A7 CORSAIR II, and was a member of Attack Squadron 303 "Golden Hawks"
Left shoulder patch is from the U.S.S. America CV-66 Aircraft Carrier, and represents 100 carrier landings
The U.S.S. America was decommissioned in 1996 and sunk off the coast of North Carolina as an artificial reef.
The jacket has the leather name tag on the left breast, RICH HARRIS and then "DIRT BAG" is printed on the tag, I'm assuming that "Dirt Bag" was the pilots call sign.
The jacket shows signs of lots of use, and is dirty, and needs to be cleaned. The right sleeve cuff has a snag in it, (See Picture)
Below the squadron patch it looks like something has spilled on the jacket, (See Picture with me pointing with my finger) it may be stained, or it may come out with a cleaning, not sure. Jacket is being sold AS IS, just the way I found it.
Jacket is size: LARGE (42-44)
Please check all pictures for a better look at condition, and feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
Jacket will be shipped in a box for its protection, and A SIGNATURE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR DELIVERY.
Thanks!
