vintage 100% authentic Hawaiian Momi shell lei (Euplica Variens) at least 80 years old. First time offered (1 of 2 Leis offered for sale the other being a 4 strand lei) 2 strands @ 38" PROVENANCE: This lei belonged to my mother , Elizabeth Puanani Lewis Mom's hanai mother, a Ms. Susan Pua Nye Lewis daughter of David Pua lived on Artesian way, near Punahou School, Honolulu. According to mom, her "auntie" Ms. Lewis gave these to her when she turned 18, around 1940. This is an original Heirloom Hawaiian hand strung lei at least 80 years old. It is strung with some type of woven fiber thread (not monofilament) There are a few "gaps" either due to age or lost shells. It has been re-knotted in a couple of places. Due to the age of this item, it is being sold "as is". Included will be half a bag of spare shells shown. Shipped with USPS First Class.
