Fantastic vintage Sterling silver open salts with cobalt blue glass liners. Great Arts and Crafts Movement strap and rivet motif design. Stamped on the bottom of each salter is the hallmarks for P.W. Ellis & Co. of Toronto Canada, (an anchor mark, a letter P over a maple leaf and a lion stamped hallmark), Sterling 925/1000 Fine. In need of a good polishing but in otherwise excellent vintage condition. Each of the sterling silver open salts measures 2.25 inches wide by 1 inch tall.The P.W. Ellis and Company established in 1872 in Toronto Ontario Canada. Ellis manufactured and retailed jewelry, watches, silver, cut glass, as well as other quality wares. The company was in business until 1928 at which time it was purchased by Henry Birks & Sons.
